Abstract

The perspectives and experiences of students and graduates regarding teacher training in the initial stages of the Teaching and Bachelor of Education Science degrees at the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of the National University of La Plata are systematized. Their strengths and weaknesses are described and proposals for improvement are identified. It is part of a broader research project that investigates the approaches that guide teacher training in Education Sciences from the perspective of teachers, graduates, and students in that field. It seeks to reconstruct traditions, perspectives, and experiences of pedagogical training relevant to the recent history of this degree program linked to “popular education,” from a Latin American and decolonial perspective, based on current praxis and epistemological debates. It also aims to generate proposals that promote the improvement of training processes at this and other universities.
