Abstract

During the 1960s and 1970s in Argentina, the poet, editor, and sailor Ariel Canzani (1928– 1983) developed several editorial projects aimed at creating alternative spaces for the circulation of poetry and art, most notably the magazines Cormorán y Delfín and Ediciones Dead Weight. This article reconstructs Canzani’s largely forgotten trajectory, analyzes the distinctive features of his editorial poetics, and relates this praxis to the notion of independent publishing in order to examine its disruptive dimension and its capacity for political and social intervention.
