An approach to the diagnosis and conservation of the foundational church of Lules (Tucumán)

The Province of Tucumán has a significant number of historic buildings that represent a valuable historical and cultural heritage. Among them, the Foundational Church of Lules stands out, a small architectural complex composed of the church and parish house.
Founded by the priest Zoilo Domínguez in 1851, it was closed by the Archdiocese of Tucumán in 1930. In 1986, it reopened its doors and the Municipality dedicated a great effort to the restoration of the church. However, the parish house remained abandoned and in a state of serious deterioration.
Taking into account the historical, cultural and heritage value of this building, we carried out the first stage of the restoration project, which involved the interpretation of the construction and destructive processes, diagnosis of the pathologies it presents and a proposal for construction solutions, with a view to its recovery and enhancement.
