Focus and Scope
ANDES is a biannual publication edited by the CEPIHA Editorial Group at the Institute for Research in Social Sciences and Humanities (ICSOH) of the National University of Salta and CONICET. Andes is dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of original works by national and international researchers on issues in Latin America, especially in the fields of history and anthropology, while also highlighting contributions that represent an interesting contribution from other social disciplines. It also includes special sections such as theoretical reflections and debates, applied regional studies, and bibliographic reviews.
Andes journal regularly welcomes unpublished articles in Spanish, Portuguese, or English for publication, which will be submitted for consideration by the Editorial Committee. After approval of this stage, the articles will be sent to two external referees through a double-blind review process. If necessary, they will be sent for a third review. Andes has a team of external evaluators made up of prestigious professionals from Argentina and abroad, specialists in different areas of research.

Dossier
The Dossier section aims to include historical research articles that address a specific topic or problem, either within the same or different historical periods. The Dossier will have one or two coordinators and will include between four and five articles. Dossier proposals require the coordinators' brief CVs, the title of the dossier, a summary of the topic/problem, and the full names of the participants and their institutions. Once the dossier proposal is accepted, the journal will submit it. For this purpose, the coordinators will send the authors the editorial guidelines and send the journal a presentation or introduction and the manuscripts received.
Articles will be initially evaluated by the coordinator(s) and considered by the Editorial Committee to ensure their relevance and academic relevance, as well as compliance with the journal's editorial guidelines and policies. If accepted, the articles will be sent to external reviewers using a double-blind process.

Peer Review Process
Manuscripts received will be initially reviewed by the Editorial Board. Their thematic relevance, academic quality, and strict adherence to the journal's editorial standards will be considered.

Plagiarism Policy
Andes Journal publishes original works. These must not have been previously published, either in part or in full, in any medium (paper or electronic), nor have they been simultaneously published in another publication. Authors must submit this declaration in a note with their signature, in which they will also request publication of the article in Andes Journal.
To detect coincidences between the works received and publications in other sources by those who declare their authorship and by other authors, Andes uses online search tools before initiating reviewing. To confirm originality and avoid plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and redundant publication, the Journal proceeds to review the article in its entirety.
If plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or redundant publication is detected, the authors are sent evidence of what was detected and are asked to provide a disclaimer. If the response is not satisfactory, they are informed that the article has been rejected, meaning the manuscript is not sent for external evaluation and the journal will not receive any further articles from the author.
Ethical Aspects and Conflicts of Interest
Andes Journal is committed to avoiding conflicts of interest among those involved in its production. Authors and reviewers may report any conflicts of interest they may have.
The journal adheres to policies that promote and ensure ethical conduct among all participants in the publication process.
